I'm having trouble navigating the Zone with Nvda. Can you make Nvda user friendly for the Zone?

Hey,
NVDA works fine with the Zone. The only thing it won't do is read certain parts of the boards. It just skips over them.
If you can use Jaws to navigate the Zone, you can use NVDA. Its very simple.

south park fan is right, i use NVDA on the zone myself. the problem he mentoined is not on the zone, it's something in NVDA itself.

NVDA is user friendly for the zone. i use nvda all the time on here. the zone is not going to change anything because people use nvda.

Well I can use Nvda for the Zone, here's another probblem, it won't read Msn. yeah South Park Fan it did skip over some secctions of the boards. I thought something was wrong with it when it happened this morning. Austin I wasn't expecting the Zone to change for me. Just thought Nvda was the probblem, and thought it needed to be made more user friendly.

i don't like NVDA that much for now, i had issues with it but it's still in development, it will be more user friendly with time. but for now the zone can't do nothing about it. lol

If you find that, for instance, NVDA is skipping over board message bodies or private mail, simply do a "select all", and copy the page to the clipboard. Next, open a text itor like Notepad, and past the copied text. Your copy will have the text that NVDA's virtual buffer doesn't seem to contain.

okay, here's my problem with n,v,d,a. Hope is right, it does skip over parts of boards, but that isn't the real problem n,v,d,a uses face on the zone. the big problem (this hopefully will be fixt soon though) is that n,v,d,a can freeze or crash more easily on here, but only because the codes that stop that for jawz and window eyes aren't in place on here for n,v,d,a. All I and other n,v,d,a users ask is that people be considerate when they are writing quick notes. I myself, have had n,v,d,a freeze on me at least three times, cause someone wrote something that usually wouldn't effect jawz or window eyes. oh, and before I get "all screen readers can crash", that's not the point this board is trying to get across. Think of it this way, would you be very happy if you came on here, and your screen reader crashed?

oh and Hope, I have the same problem with msn. It won't let me go back and rub out mistakes, so I have to be careful when I write messages.

If you can figure out what crashes NVDA, your best bet is to report that information to the developers so they can fix the product.

I found a page on here wich freezes n,v,d,a. it's the premium voice mail down load page. I was using n,v,d,a and went to see who had just sent me a voice mail cause I was in a confrence and didn't want to leave it. When I opened the page, n,v,d,a froze, and wouldn't read anything at all, so I had to restart my pc. Jawz is sometimes slow at reading that page, but at least it gets there, and is able to read the page.

There are some pages and things taht trip up NVDA. It's honestly up to them to fix it. I know they're in the midst of rewriting their website virtual buffer code.

yes please? LOL! it's anoying to have your screen reader to crash, and I am planning on writing the people who make NVDA and see what they can do. to my knallage there is no dictionary maniger in NVDA like there is with jaws. does anyone know if there is one and I just can't see it? thanks.
cat.

They really should have written NVDA in Perl. Then I wouldn't have to learn a whole new language if I wanted to contribute.

NVDA is in the process of rewriting their code that handles web pages. I'd guess that when the new code is implemented, this'll all be fixed.
